Chad Shugart is the founder of Texas 35 Media. He has a master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, and Criminal Justice from Sul Ross State University. His bachelor's is in Government from New Mexico State University. He has been in the education field for 27 years where he has been a coach for several media teams at various schools. Along with teaching he has worked as a media coordinator for several political candidates. In college he wrote for the college newspaper, took photographs and rose to be sports editor and political editor. In film he has worked on several sets as extras to include The Day After Tomorrow and helping with productions, was a stand in for Glory Roads.
Christine Treanor is the Vice President for Texas 35 Media. She has a master's degree in Media Communications, a Sports Communication Graduate Certification, and an Advanced Digital and Social Media Graduate Certificate from Texas Tech University. Her bachelor's degree is in Speech Communications from the University of Texas-Pan American. Before joining Texas 35 Media, she taught high school English and was a head golf coach. Before becoming a teacher, she worked in marketing and tournament operations for golf courses. With Texas 35 Media she has been an assistant coach, a photographer, a copy editor, and a layout editor.
Hondo Lopez is the North Texas and IT Lead for Texas 35 Media. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology at the University of North Texas, he joined the Texas 35 team as a photographer in early 2024. Through his work photographing significant sports events such as The Texas Relays, UIL State Track, and various softball playoffs and track meets, he advanced to his current leadership position. Additionally, he played a key role as an editor in the Texas 35 Media Year in Review.
Kam Nace is the New Braunfels lead for Texas 35 Media. He is attending Texas State University for a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with aspirations of becoming a broadcaster for a major network. As our newest member of Texas 35, Kam is breaking into his career path early by becoming a major broadcaster and lead for the New Braunfels area of Texas.
Alfred De Leon is the North Texas Lead for Texas 35 media. As of right now, he is currently attending The University of North Texas for a bachelor's degree in Information Technology. Starting in early 2024 he joined the Texas 35 team as a photographer working his way up to the North Texas lead position by photographing important sports events such as The Texas Relays, UIL State Track, softball playoffs, and other track meets in the area. He was also a key editor in the Texas 35 Media Year in Review.
Conner Valdez is one of the San Antonio leads for Texas 35 Media. He is the second photographer in our high school program to complete the program at Veterans Memorial. After graduating he continued to work on his photography while attending college at NLC. Conner is a very versatile photographer who will help train students in our training program to be the best they can be.
Lauren Sims is one of the leads for San Antonio. She joined our training program at Veterans Memorial during her senior year as the editor and chief of our Urban 35 magazine and as a broadcaster for sports. During her time in our training program, she has broadcasted live for the state basketball championship. Her plans include attending college and majoring in broadcasting.
Ben Cisneros is the Lead Photographer for the San Antonio Area. He was the first photographer accepted into our training program at Veterans Memorial. He has shot at various high-level events ranging from the state basketball championship, football playoffs, and the Spurs. He is currently attending UTSA pursuing a degree in media.
Luke Ahart is a Junior at Veterans Memorial HS. This is the second-year internship for Luke as a photographer and videographer. After high school, Luke would like to be a car photographer and work as a restate agent.
Albert Feliciano Otero is a Senior at Veterans Memorial HS. Albert will be interning as a photographer for his senior year. Albert brings three years of experience in photography to his internship. Albert is a photographer for the yearbook at Veterans Memorial HS and a member of the JROTC program. Albert plans on going to college to pursue a degree in media.
Gael Realivazquez is a junior at Veterans Memorial HS. Gael has been involved in our program since his eighth-grade year. Gael moved into the role of sports broadcasting and directing his sophomore year. Along with media Gael is a member of Varsity cross country and track. After high school, Gael plans on attending college and pursuing a degree in media.
Nicholas Ramirez Cate is a Senior at Warren HS. Nicholas will be working with our Performing Arts Division. He has been part of the Warren HS Marching Band playing snare in the drumline.
Team leads are responsible for making sure assigned events are covered in the correct manner, meet deadlines, and be responsible for equipment and other items for the team assigned. Must be a high school graduate and be able to pass a criminal background check to work with high school students.
