Texas 35 Media - internship OPPORTUNITIES for the 2024/2025

Our main publication Texas 35 has an opening for the editor-in-chief. As editor-in-chief, they are responsible for approving the publication's layout, design, style, and tone, reviewing written content for spelling and grammar errors, fact-checking information in articles and stories, and providing suggestions for edits when needed. To apply please include a resume and at least two published articles (one sports article, one local community article, and one editorial). Along with the written submissions please attach one video in standard media format of an interview and one video in social media format of a different interview. Two letters of recommendation, with one from an English teacher. The editor-in-chief position is open to any high school student in grades 11 - 12 who is attending a high school in Judson ISD, Comal ISD, New Braunfels ISD, and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD.

As a reporter you will gather and present information to the public about newsworthy topics for Texas 35 Media through various media outlets, such as magazines, broadcasting, and social media. To apply please include a resume, one written article, one video in standard media format of a school-related story, one video of a community-related story, and one video in social media format of a school story or a community story. As a sports reporter you will gather and present information to the public about newsworthy topics in sports for Texas 35 Media through various media outlets, such as magazines, broadcasting, and social media. As a photographer/videographer for Texas 35 Media you will take and edit photos and videos to promote Texas 35 Media and to be used by the schools and districts that we work with. As a magazine reporter (writer) you will gather and present information to the public about newsworthy topics for Texas 35 Media through various media outlets, such as magazines and social media. To apply please include a resume, one written article covering a school event, one written article covering a community-related story, and one video of you interviewing for a story. For articles, please follow the traditional journalist style of writing, must include quotes, and has to be at least 250 words. As a team member, your responsibilities will be to help design advertising for print media, help design Urban 35 magazine, lit magazine, school programs, community programs, and advertising posters.
