Marching band is where we found our passion for performing arts. Whether its at marching band competitions or half time you might just see Texas 35. Bands don't stop playing after marching season they move into concert season. During concert season they perform Christmas concerts, pre UIL concerts, UIL competition and spring shows. .

Winter Guard coverage starts in January and runs through May. Texas 35 works with Texas Color Guard Circuit and WGI. We bring you photo and video recaps of great performances. We will begin adding broadcasting to winter guard for the 2026 season.

About Texas 35 Media
Our Story
Texas 35 Media began our journey in 2021 as a small media program that focused on covering events at Veterans Memorial High School ranging from sports, fine arts, and clubs. To help provide this coverage, we created an innovative concept of recruiting and training students in film and photography.
The school year of 2022-2023 saw some changes for our program as we began to help cover some of Judson HS events with the addition of a training program for their students. For the school year of 2023-2024 we decided to make some big changes as we became South Texas Sports and News and increased coverage to other schools in Judson ISD, Comal ISD, Northside ISD, and SCUCISD. We added broadcasting at sporting events to our student training. As the school year began to wind down, we started receiving request for coverage that were outside of the San Antonio area and realized things might need to be updated. South Texas Sports was becoming well-known to surrounding areas. We were excited at the prospect of expanding our media base.
In addition to photography and broadcasting, we launched our first magazine which enabled us to dive into another form of media. Our first magazine was called Urban 35 which focused on high school sports in the IH35 area. In June and July of 2024, we focused on finding a name for our company that would allow us to expand our coverage even further. The new name of the company became Texas 35 Media, and we became a registered 503c nonprofit registered in the state of Texas.
As the start of the school year of 2024/2025 began, we were covering schools all along Interstate 35 from San Antonio to the Dallas area. We continued to focus on sports as we trained students in our program. As the football season was underway, we were asked to cover a marching band competition where we found our passion. We realized that performing arts was lacking media coverage and made the decision that performing arts would be at the core of our coverage as we scaled back our sports coverage. We also changed our training program to have students who were passionate about media but have a background in the performing arts. We saw the continuation of our Urban 35 magazine but changed it from a high school sports magazine to a performing arts magazine. We also added our Movement 35 magazine that covers marching bands throughout the state of Texas. The third magazine is our Arise 35 focusing on the indoor season for winter guard, indoor percussion, and winds. Since the change, we have seen a tremendous increase in our Instagram posts and an exciting energy over our coverage. The performing arts students have been starving for media coverage and have welcomed their much need attention.
As we look forward to the school year of 2025/2026, we will continue our coverage of band and color guard programs. We are excited about increasing our coverage of broader areas of performing arts such as theater, orchestra, and choir programs to cover all high school performing arts.
